Each course is over a span of 10 weeks, with 1 class per week for 3 hours a class, with the exception of Drawing 1 which is held for 2 hours. Due to popular demand, some courses are being offered with more than one time slot option.
DRAWING 1: Introductory course in drawing. Involves the study of still life, analysis of plane breaks, basic perspective, composition, form and basic lighting techniques.
DRAWING 2: Introduction to figure drawing. Focuses on fast poses for gesture and movent, as well as longer studies to break down the figure into simple forms and planes.
DRAWING 3: Bringing perspective into the figure. Focuses on more complicated poses and studies with contrapposto. Study of the skeleton and major muscle groups.
DRAWING 4: Involves advanced drawing techniques, chiaroscuro, trois crayons, lighting and tonal studies of the figure. This course accumulates all the knowledge acquired in the previous levels and brings it together to create more finished drawings.
PORTRAITURE: Focus on individualized portraits with models.
COSTUME DRAWING CLASS: Study of drapery techniques and costume on a live model. Only available to students who have taken Drawing 2 or higher, or have an equivalent portfolio.
**7 people must be registered in order for the course to take place. Should the course be cancelled because of attendance, those who have registered will be fully reimbursed or given the option of a different time slot.
